A Qualified Investor refers to an individual or company that meets specific financial or professional criteria, allowing them to invest in funds without the restrictions applied to retail investors. Qualified investors are not subject to the investment cap of SAR 200,000 per fund, which applies to retail investors. This enables them to access more significant investment opportunities and allocate higher amounts to funds as desired. In Saudi Arabia, these criteria are set by the Capital Market Authority (CMA) to ensure that such investors have the necessary resources and expertise for larger-scale investments.
Requirements for Individuals:
To qualify as an individual investor, you must provide proof of meeting at least ONE of the following criteria:
1. Net Assets: Possess net assets exceeding SAR 5 million.
2. Experience: Have more than three years of experience in the financial sector, specifically in investment-related roles.
3. Certification and Income: Hold a CMA-approved certificate for dealing in stocks, with an annual income of no less than SAR 600,000 for the past two years.
4. Qualification Certificate: Possess a General Securities Qualification Certificate.
Requirements for Companies:
To qualify as a company, the organization must demonstrate net assets exceeding SAR 10 million.
